To PDA or not to PDA?

Palm Pilot PDAI have had a couple of PDAs. Both were Palm Pilots. The first was an enormous monstrosity the size of a house brick. It had a mono screen and a battery life of about ten minutes. I think it was called a Palm II, but I may be wrong.

I never used it. Which is a shame because it was a present, but at the time I really didn’t have a use for it. I thought I did, but my life at the time was far too simple and I simply did not need a personal organizer to… well organize my life.

Nowadays I have a PalmOne Tungsten T5. Which I really like. It’s slim, colour and has a large screen. I added a WiFi card which works like a dream and it also syncs with my 17″ Mac OS X Powerbook. Having said all of that, I have not used it for quite some time. I just kind of fell out of the habit after I broke the screen and had to send it away for repairs.

I’m also still wondering whether I should have gone for the Treo 650. I think I’m glad I didn’t because it doesn’t have WiFi built in. But I like its style. I had a quick look at the Treo 700, but I’m not convinced that I want a Windows OS on my PDA. It was also still a bit on the bulky side. I was told that there will be more Palm operated Treos coming out sometime this year, so we shall see.
